Hey there! The FAFSA and CSS opened today! 🤑 Here's your to-do list for the next two weeks.

Your College Checklist (10/1-10/17) 🎯

Finish your EA/ED applications. Choose up to 3 reviewers with strong writing skills and/or understanding of the admissions process. Try Analyze my Writing for insights into sentence lengths, punctuation usage, and frequently repeated words in your essays.
Fill out the FAFSA and CSS ASAP. Go ahead and send these forms to the colleges on your school list. See here for our notes on financial aid.
Check your email for Student Aid Report access. A few days after you submit your FAFSA, you will get an email that includes your official Expected Family Contribution from the government. Keep this for need-considered scholarships!
Follow up with your recommenders. Check that your recommendation letters have been submitted correctly for your early applications.

US Senate Youth Program (Deadline varies by state, Sept-Nov): Each year, two student leaders from each state receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington to experience their national government in action. In addition, each delegate is also awarded $10,000 college scholarship. Find more information and apply here.
Coca-Cola Scholarship Program (Due 10/31): The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship provides $20,000 college scholarships to 150 exceptional high school students dedicated to leadership, service, and action that positively affects others. Find more information and apply here.
Create Real Impact Contest (Due 11/03): High school students must submit a video, essay, or song that addresses solutions for reckless driving. Find more information and apply here.
Regeneron Science Talent Search (Due 11/10): The Regeneron STS focuses on identifying and engaging the nation’s most promising high school seniors engaging in original STEM research. Find more information and apply here.
