Your April Checklist!🎯
- Compare and contrast acceptances! Still don’t know where you’ll be in the fall? Talk to current students, get in those admitted student Facebook & IG groups, and create pro-con lists to make a confident decision.
- Develop a plan to pay for college. Check out this article to understand what your financial offer means for you and this WSJ guide for all things student loans. Keep reading for scholarship applications that are still open!
- Send letters of continued interest for waitlisted schools. Be sure to send an update and let them know you’re still interested in being a student at schools you’ve been waitlisted at. Check out this guide to get started.
- Stick to a study routine for AP/IB exams (if applicable). Get your test dates, study materials, and study plan in order. Check out what AP/IB credits are accepted at your future university and prioritize these subjects!

- Gloria Barron's Prize for Young Heroes (Due 4/15): Each year, the Barron Prize honors young leaders all across North America who have made a significant positive difference in people’s lives/the environment through service/projects with up to $10,000.
- Ayn Rand Essay Contest (Due 4/28): Are you an Ayn Rand enthusiast? Enter this essay contest for the chance to win up to $10,000 in scholarship prize money!
- Ramanuhan STEM Talent Initiative (Due 4/30): An international search for gifted young STEM students that aims to locate and nurture undiscovered talent. Students can win up to $5,000 as well as gain access to mentorship opportunities.
- Congressional Black Caucus Spouses Performing Arts Scholarship (Due 4/30): This award is for full-time African-American or Black students pursuing a degree in performing arts including, but not limited to, drama, music, dance, opera, marching bands, and other musical ensembles.
- Paradigm Challenge (Due 5/1): Invites students aged 4 to 18 around the world to use kindness, creativity, and collaboration to help solve real-life problems and win up to $100,000 to fund their aspirations.
- Apartment Guide Scholarship (Due 5/1): Submit a 500-600 word essay explaining what you love about where you live and win up to $2,500!
